Slice Panel
In today’s gaming industry, there seems to be a movement toward indie and start-up gaming companies as the big powerhouses trim away talent in the name of chasing the latest prize.
Skilled designers, developers, writers, and creators are hitting the market and finding like-minded people who want to make something special. They are harnessing their visions, talents, and creativity to put together a product that speaks to their collective desires for games.
While some indie and start-up companies are fortunate enough to get a well-known name to join their team, it provides an initial burst of credibility and attention. For the rest, marketing, public relations, and community building is generally an afterthought when it should be included in the initial planning stages.
In particular, building a community for small (and medium and large) studios provides the opportunity for feedback from fans, an instant testing group, and people who are willing to share what the studio is doing. Community is the marketing channel studios own, and the earlier they put it in their plans, the more areas it can help grow the game, inform design decisions or land a publisher.
We at The NPC Guild have the knowledge, seasoning, and experience to create and help small studios break through the gaming industry noise. Marketing plans are part of your development. Building lasting player communities and sustained visibility. And systems that can be applied immediately to empower companies to act.
During SLICE (Seattle Loves Indie Creators Expo), game developers can learn the practical tools, empower strategic insights, and develop essential connections necessary to make their studios build and grow.
On August 27 at McCaw Hall, three members of The NPC Guild will share their vast marketing and community knowledge and expertise during a panel discussion, Marketing Muscle for Small Studios: Practical Frameworks for Building Visibility. The panel at SLICE starts at 3:45 p.m. in the Lecture Hall.
Great games deserve to be seen. Learn how to break through the noise.
